1. What is TMPO?
Thug Music Plays On is a website/blog that supplies you with a comprehensive list of rap singles that I pick out for a given month. I proceed to individually rate each song out of five.

2. What can I expect to find here?
You can expect to find about 30 good songs a month. These songs will all be grouped into a collective post, which means there will be a list of hundreds of songs of your liking. Finally, you will be able to have your say on every song using the comment section under each song listing.

3. Why should I read TMPO's content?
If you are a rap fan, you will understand where I am coming from when I say that it can be difficult to find good listings of up-to-date songs to try. Some sites offer some good listings, but they are not updated daily. I want a new, good song every single day (yes I am finnicky), and nothing is more frustrating than having to scan through message boards, or randomly download stuff until you find something you like. With TMPO, I am the one who is doing the 'searching' for new good tunes, and you get the benefit of cashing in on some good songs with little effort'

4. Where did the name 'Thug Music Plays On' come from?
The name Thug Music Plays On is the title of an unreleased song from one of my favourite, and arguably most talented group ever, the Bone Thugs-n-Harmony. If you don't believe me, download the song and see'

5. When did you start the site?
I have been forming the idea of such a site for over a year now, but the first version of the site (called Rated Rap at the time) was published in early August 2005.

6. Where do you get songs from?
I get song ideas from many different sources including albums that I purchase, message boards, other hip-hop sites, etc. I do my best to portray song that are not only popular with a large audience, but also those other tracks that you might skip over or just never happen to come across.

7. What do you consider a new song?
It is very difficult to answer this question due to the fact that sometimes songs do not become popular till months after their release date. As well, songs that come out on a new mixtape may be months old as well. In both instances, I would post them on the site. Also, I might add on some old throwback tracks for shits and giggles. Basically, whatever my ears say is worthy of posting is what I'll put....god damnit!

8. What do you consider a 'rap' song?
Again, another tough issue due to the fact that the genre of rap is changing all the time and has lately come to mix in other types of music (especially R&B and Rock has had it's influence as well).

9. Who rates the songs?
Me. I take in many accounts from popularity, lyrics, beat, flow; basically all the elements of a good song. I rate each song out of 5 stars. This keeps it simple, and gives you a clear and concise idea at the quality of the song.

10. Do you host these songs?
Definitely not. Right now, music piracy is a touchy issue right now, and I would prefer to exercise my right of not getting involved. On TMPO I do not endorse the trading of music, nor will I condone it. Everyone has their own way of getting music. TMPO wil not host music, and I will leave it at that.

11. Who can add comments to your rated songs?
As of now, anyone can add comments WITHOUT having to register. I know that allowing anonymity can lead to trouble, but I feel that anyone should be allowed to leave their opinion on a song without all the hassle of setting up an account. This may change in due time, though.

12. Should I register?
If you plan on coming back and sharing your thoughts with everyone, then you might as well. It's free, and might be implemented later on, so why not?

13. Will you ever give my e-mail address to anyone?
Of course not. This site is costing me nothing, so I will not benefit from it at your expense. An e-mail might be necessary for registry, but that will be the only one you'll get as a result of you giving your e-mail addy to me.

14. What can I comment on, and who moderates it?
You may comment on anything pertaining to that artist, song, or album of that particular listing. As of now I will be the only one moderating posts, and it is not a job that I wish to have to frequently do. In other words, swearing can be tolerable, as long as it does not get to the point where it is extremely vulgar. I believe in free speech, and I would like to be able to exercise that right for everyone posting.

15. Can I help you moderate?
As of now, I am going to do it on my own. However, when time comes, I will be enlisting a few people of my choice (most likely the people who show the most dedication to the site) to help me moderate comments.

16. Can I help you add songs?
If you believe that you got a track that deserves to be added, feel free to e-mail it to me (find my e-mail addy on the contact page) and I will give it a listen and pass my own judgement on it. If you do recommend a track to me that I put on the site, I'll make sure to give you props.

17. Will you post my site under your text link section?
I'd be glad to. In return, all I ask is that you place a text link of my site on yours. A fair deal that can easily be negotiated through e-mail. Read the contact section for more info.

18. Will you post my site under your button link section?
Again, I'd be glad to. In return, all I ask is that you place a button link of my site on yours. Buttons get displayed above text links on my site. However, I will ask that the button be a certain pic size in order for the site to stay visually appealing. Read the contact section for more info.
